Paddington

McVeigh homes enjoyed working on this Paddington home which consisted of house lift, a new downstairs addition and a complete renovation.

The original two-storey home had a lot of water issues due to the house being below street level. The lower part of the home also was not of legal height to be built in. Michael and the team addressed both these issues by bringing in fill to the site to bring the building level up above the street level and then lifting the house before extending and renovating.

The renovation consisted of a complete demolition of the lower part of the house which was then rebuilt with an extension. All water issues were resolved by changing the site levels and water now flows away from the house instead of in.

The final result is a stunning home that is not only beautiful but functional while retaining a lot of its old-world charm and remains in keeping with the traditional Queenslander style synonymous with the Paddington area.
